March 2002 News Letter March 13th Meeting Program -- An Alaska fly fishing venue will be shown in a slide presentation given by Pat Robbins at the March 13 joint BVFF/TU meeting. Pat is co-owner of the Italio River Adventures which guides clients on a system of small coastal rivers in Alaska about 25 miles southeast of Yakatat. Also, Don Clower, Fish & Game Commissioner, discusses the Fish & Game Initiative.
January 2002 News Letter Mr. Chip Corsi, Idaho Department of Fish and Game's State Fisheries Manager, will be our guest speaker at our upcoming January 9th Club meeting. Mr. Corsi will discuss the impacts of the 2001 drought on the fisheries in Idaho, where the hatchery fish from last year were released, and their current plans for restocking reservoirs this spring.

November 2001 News Letter Caleb Zurstadt from the Forest Service led the cutthroat study and will present a program at the November meeting that tells the story of cutthroat in Bear Valley Creek.
July 2001 News Letter Annual Picnic is Wednesday, July 11 Every summer the Boise Valley Fly Fishermen put on a potluck picnic. Trout Unlimited and the Boise Valley Woolly Buggers have joined in this annual event the past few years.

December 2000 News Letter TRUEBLOOD CHAPTER HOLIDAY PARTY DECEMBER 7 The Ted Trueblood Chapter will have its annual Christmas dinner on Thursday, December 7 at the Basque Museum and Cultural Center 607 Grove Street. Cost is $15. Social hour at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7:30 p.m. DECEMBER 13 MEETING Keith Johnson with Idaho Department of Fish Game will make a presentation on whirling disease.
November 2000 Meeting There has been an excellent steelhead return to Idaho this year. By the time we have our November meeting, Im sure there will be lots of stories about good steelhead fishing on Idahos Salmon and Clearwater Rivers. Dave Burns is invited to give us a program on steelhead fly fishing on the Salmon River.
The Bear Valley Cutthroat Trout Research Project took a major leap forward when the cutthroat roundup occurred Sept. 15-30. All 30 radio tags have been implanted ... one twice.

May 2000 Letter A Double Hook-Up!. Trueblood Chapter Awarded Grants for Boise River; Westslope Cutthroat.
April 2000 Letter GET YOUR GLOVES AND WORK BOOTS READY. The Ted Trueblood Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Emmett Ranger District of the Boise National Forest have scheduled two stream projects in the coming months. Both projects will make important contributions to conservation of bull trout or restoration of watersheds.
Trout go to school to teach a lesson. Raising fish gives 7th-graders insight into real-life science. Students in Kris Stones life science class are getting a first-hand look at the life cycle of the rainbow trout by raising their own school of fish right in the classroom. The Riverglen Junior High seventh-graders are participating in the "Trout in the Classroom" program sponsored by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Trout Unlimited and a host of other agencies interested in teaching kids more about their world.
TU Chapter February 2000 Letter. The monthly meetings now happen on the second Wednesday of the month. The new location is at the GARDEN CITY, City Hall Auditorium. The address is 201 E. 50th Street, just off of Chinden Boulevard (between Chinden and the Boise River). 50th Street is between Veterans Parkway and Glenwood Avenue, and a little closer to Glenwood.
TU Chapter January 2000 Letter. Monthly Meetings: New day, new location The monthly joint meetings for the Ted Trueblood Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Boise Valley Fly Fishers will now occur on the Second WEDNESDAY of each month, starting Wednesday Jan. 12, 2000.

TU Chapter October Letter. Allan Sands, Field Representative for The Nature Conservancy's Southwest Idaho Office, returns to give our group an overview and slide show on some of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) preserves/projects in Idaho that are of interest to the fly fisher.

Ted Trueblood Chapter and Free Fishing Day. TU volunteers join 150 people at the new Lowman Nature Fishing Ponds for Free Fishing Day. Everyone had fun with the kids clinic, the dedication, awards and a catered lunch!

TU Chapter February Letter. Our fish tank project at Riverside Elementary took a big step forward, TU is working with the Idaho Wildlife Federation to propose a trout license plate to the Idaho Legislature, and now is the time for folks to contact House Resource committee members about financial support for IDFG.

Letter on Harris Ranch. After a field tour in October, TU is interested in establishing a partnership with Harris Ranch to pursue stream enhancement projects on the northern bypass and other possible locations which run through the Harris Ranch property.
Comments to DEQ. TU comments on the Draft Lower Boise River TMDL and Subbasin Problem Assessment (Draft Assessment).
November TU Meeting. TU continues with the Boise Valley Fly Fishermen joint meeting November 10. This month Bernie Babcock returns with more great fly fishing opportunities across the border in Oregon with an update on Owyhee River fishing, reservoir fisheries and fly-tying.
TU Chapter November Letter. New Bear Valley Creek restoration brochure has arrived, Riverside Elementary gets new "living aquarium", riparian restoration grant for Silver Creek campgrounds, Harris Ranch stream channel restoration, TU Christmas party! and upcoming meeting news.
TU Chapter October Letter. TU Launches Trout Unlimited Television on espn2: TV Series For The "Complete Angler", resolution on breeching the dams, and upcoming programs with Boise Valley Fly Fishermen.
October TU Meeting. TU will hold member meetings jointly with the Boise Valley Fly Fishermen. This month a presentation by Larry Tripp, District Ranger of the Mountain Home Ranger District, on U.S. Forest Service resource management associated with the South Fork Boise River.
TU State Council letter to Fish and Game. The recent letter to Fish and Game Commission Chairman Fred Wood on the funding options for the future revenue of IDFG.
